BATAAN PENINSULA STATE U EXEC RECOGNIZED FOR RESEARCH PAPER ON MANGO

AN OFFICIAL of the Bataan Peninsula State University won plaudits for his research paper on mango production.

Vice President for Research, Extension and Training Services Dr. Hermogenes Paguia’s work entitled “Improvement of Mango Production through Science and Technology” placed first in the Best Development Paper category at the 9th Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Research and Development Awards.

Paguia presented his research at the National Symposium on Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development on December 1, 2020. The award was presented during the recognition rites held on December 22.

His paper was also adjudged the best development paper by the Central Luzon Agriculture and Aquatic Resources Research and Development Consortium in 2019.

For over a decade, Paguia has led research on mango production in Central Luzon.

The NSAARRD recognizes outstanding contributions of individuals and institutions in improving the state of research and development in the country in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources sector.

BPSU President Greg Rodis said he has been pushing sustainable innovations and research in the university.

“The innovations and researches we are doing in BPSU will mean nothing if these do not reach end users,” he said.
